"A Brief Compendium of the Nanshan Vinaya for Lay Practitioners," was compiled by Patriarch Daoxuan based on the Nanshan Vinaya. Later, Vinaya Master Yuanzhao revived and wrote commentaries on it, which together formed the Six Great Works of Nanshan. Master Hongyi made this book the primary reference for lay practitioners to uphold the precepts, making it an invaluable and essential Vinaya text to study.
