The Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto will host the Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Blessing and Qingming Ancestor Memorial Dharma Service on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Universal Gate Chapter Blessing Dharma Service
Recite "The Universal Gate Chapter of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva" from the Lotus Sutra, praying for the health, peace, and happiness of families, and for world peace.
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Qingming Ancestor Memorial Dharma Service
Recite "The Sutra of the Past Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva" and dedicate the merits to the deceased, wishing them perfect blessings and wisdom, rebirth in the Pure Land, and swift realization of Buddhahood.
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Simple Dinner
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM: Grand Mengshan Offering to Hungry Ghosts
The Grand Mengshan Offering provides food and recites sutras for suffering beings in the netherworld, helping the deceased find peace and liberation, and allowing participants to accumulate merits and cultivate compassion and wisdom.
